Shipping Policy
1. Introduction
Welcome to Canvas and Gifts. This Shipping Policy outlines the terms and conditions for the shipping of products purchased on our website.
2. Shipping Rates
3.1. Domestic Shipping: We offer shipping within South Africa. Shipping rates are calculated based on the weight, dimensions, and destination of the package. See below point 10 for a more detailed breakdown.
3. Shipping Methods
We offer the following shipping methods:
- Standard Nation Wide Shipping: Estimated delivery time is 2 - 4 business days.
- Local Collection: Estimated delivery time is 1 - 2 business days.
4. Shipping Providers
We partner with reputable shipping carriers to ensure the safe and timely delivery of your orders.
5. Order Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing a tracking number. You can use this number to track the status and location of your package.
6. Delayed or Lost Shipments
While we make every effort to ensure timely delivery, we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by unforeseen circumstances, such as weather, customs, or carrier issues. If your order is significantly delayed or lost, please contact our Customer Support team for assistance.
7. Incorrect Address
It is the responsibility of the customer to provide accurate shipping information. If an incorrect address is provided and the package is returned to us, additional shipping charges may apply to reship the item.
8. Returns Due to Failed Delivery Attempts
If a shipment is returned to us due to failed delivery attempts, the customer will be responsible for any additional shipping fees required to resend the package.
9. Shipping Rates
To ensure we offer you the best possible shipping rates, we have worked closely with our shipping partners to calculate your shipping rate based on either your parcel’s weight or volumetric weight. The last factor that plays a role in your personal shipping rate is the area we are shipping your parcel to.
In short, the 3 factors that play a role in your shipping rate is Area, Actual Weight, and Volumetric Weight, below we will explain each factor and also give a few examples.
9.1 Shipping Area:
As we are based in Gauteng, we offer a Local Rate for all our Gauteng based customers, and for all other Provinces excluding Gauteng we offer a National Rate. These rates do differ slightly due to additional rates incurred for distance and additional check-in points.
9.2 Actual Weight vs Volumetric Weight:
All major courier services work on a weight calculation to calculate your shipping rate. The basis of this charge is that either the parcel’s actual weight, or its size (volumetric weight) will be charged, which ever one is greater. Please see below an example of this based on a A2 Canvas.

Volumetric Weight using Length, Width, Height:
L - 46.6cm, W - 65.9cm, H - 3.3kg = 1kg Volumetric Weight
In this example the actual weight will be used to calculate your shipping rate.
Lastly all our packages are individually double layered wrapped, combined and wrapped in cardboard box to prevent damage during shipping.
Please see below our shipping rate card, and a few examples of what our individual products weigh, and based on these weights what your Shipping Rate will be.
